When the OOM killer kicks in, it's not just a configuration problem. Your programs are using up all the available memory. This may be normal (e.g.: if you are using programs that use a lot of RAM) or not (e.g.: a program is leaking memory). Try to understand the situation you are in, and then choose the appropriate solution. You can monitor system resources to focus on the problem. You can use tools like atop.I have 12GB Ram and thats unfortunately maxed out for my thinkpad t450s. I never run into any issues with my usage pattern on other distros (arch and fedora). So i guess it is something with my system configuration. swappiness is a great hint. it's at 60 and my swap file is just 1G.
i will try to lower it and increase the swap file size
