Hardware • NVIDIA laptop GPU is always unused

Hi all, the Nvidia GPU is never used (I think because of the Optimus), is it possible to fix this problem? Is it possible to make that when the laptop is charging the Nvidia GPU is used by all programs and when it is on battery power it is only used by specific programs?
I hope I have expressed myself clearly.
