It's part of the alsa-utils package and is installed to /usr/sbin/alsa-info so (as root or sudo):I was looking at a forum post that mentioned using alsa-info.sh (a system information script) to find the hardware address of the sound sink (ie the speakers) at the lowest level, and send a test file to it, but I'm damned if I can find it now.
